Impact

We have engaged in various impactful activities since our registration in 2020. For the past 2 years, we have been partnering with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Kenya Country Office in devolution strengthening through training and forums on budgeting and development planning. We have also collaborated with the food security project to build awareness on disaster risk management approaches and climate change resilience, working with the National Drought Management Authority (NDMA) and the County Steering Groups in addition to civil society networks

In 2021 with the support from Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Kenya Country Office, PACSET Foundation conducted study on political commitments made to address resource management by local governments. The study aimed to analyze the natural resource environment of the three counties, map out natural resources, environmental threats and constraints, and propose sustainable management strategies. It also sought to ascertain the status of political commitment on natural resource management and its implementation in Baringo, Elkeiyo Marakwet and West Pokot Counties through reviewing CIDPs, county and national policies that were enacted and implemented in the three counties. Furthermore, the study assessed challenges and gaps in natural resources management and the impact of climate change in the three counties, proposing recommendations for action. The data was collected from County Assembly Oversight Committees, County Executives, National government agencies, civil society networks and the local communities
